Due
to the fire disaster that engulf the University of Jos main library
recently, Progressive Educational Services Limited Kaduna owners of
progressive bookshops, donated various assorted current books worth
N1.7million to the university.
The books donated to the University of
Jos cut across various areas such as Engineering, Agriculture, Public
Administration and Islamic studies among others.
Speaking while presenting the books, the Managing Director of Progressive Educational Services Limited, who is also the president of Nasarawa State Youth Forum, Kaduna State chapter, Mr. Moses Jikka McDaniel said the donation was part of the company’s social responsibility towards enhancing reading culture in the society.
He assured the university authority that Progressive Educational Services will continue to support them to enhance the educational activities of the university.
Also speaking shortly after receiving the books on behalf of the university authority, the Deputy librarian, Mrs. Leah Tashi commended the management of Progressive Educational Services for their kind gesture and assured that the valuable books will be properly utilized by the university.
