Taipei, Italy for Lagos T/tennis Classics




The Lagos International Table Tennis Classics got a boost on Saturday as the Main Organising Committee got confirmation that players from Chinese Taipei, Italy, Tunisia, Congo Brazzaville, Congo DRC and Ghana will join a host of other foreign teams for the event which holds from August 26 to 31.
The duo of Lin Chia-Hui and Chiang Hung-Chieh will represent Chinese Taipei’s, while Italy’s national champion, Mihai Bobocica, is also expected at the competition.
Chia-Hui and Hung-Chieh will compete in the women and men’s singles events as well as the mixed doubles event.
Tunisia Table Tennis Association technical director, Ghazi Belkahia, confirmed the availability of Adam Hmam and Abderrazek Souabni for the event, while current African women’s champion, Congo Brazzaville’s Chinese-born Han Xing will also be part of the championship.
Also in the colours of Congo Brazzaville, Nigerian-born Saka Suraju will be in Lagos.
The Secretary General of Cote d’Ivoire Table Tennis Association, Kouadjo Yao Thiery listed the duo of Ali Kanate and Oba Oba Kizito for the championship.
