
The police in Ogun have arrested two suspects in connection with the theft of a Toyota Camry car at a car wash in Lagos State.
The state police command Public
Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the car with number plate, EL
989 GGE, was stolen from the car wash in Lagos on Sunday.
Adejobi, a deputy superintendent of
police, said the two suspects were intercepted by a team of Highway
Patrol men at a stop-and-search point along the Lagos-Benin Expressway
about 5.30pm.
The police added that the two suspects,
identified as Kenechukwu Anarhi and Clarkson Ovoke, had confessed to the
crime and were now helping the police in their investigation.
He stated that the owner of the recovered car had been contacted and he had confirmed that the car was stolen at a car wash.
Adejobi said, “The command wishes to assure the general public of adequate security during the ember months and beyond.
“The Commissioner of Police, Ogun
State, CP Ikemefuna Okoye, therefore appreciates the general public for
regular sharing of information and collaboration in achieving effective
policing of the state.”
