The Bayelsa Independent Watch on Wednesday faulted the claims by state Governor Seriake Dickson that the state House of Assembly had performed very well in the last eight months.
Dickson had at many forums, described the state legislators led by the Speaker, Kombowei Benson, as the "best House of Assembly in the country".
The governor based his assessment on the rapport between the executive and the legislative arms, especially on the speedy manner the lawmakers had passed executive bills.
Our correspondent gathered that the lawmakers passed 22 bills within eight months.
But the BIW, in a statement in Yenagoa on Wednesday, described the governor's position as "an insult" and "a show of shame".
The National Coordinator of the group, Mr. Boluwarei Benson, insisted that the governor's rating was "done out of pity and soothing of the bruised ego of the assembly members".
He described the position of the governor as selfish, adding that apart from passing executive bills, the lawmakers lacked creativity to initiate and pass private bills."
