Scene of the vehicle accident which killed 3 NUJ officials, injured others

Three members of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Friday died while returning from a meeting in Abuja.
Reports say the accident was caused by a burst tyre which exploded as the Toyota Hiace bus moved in top speed. It somersaulted about nine times and veered off the road into the bush killing the three and leaving others severely injured.
Others who survived in the accident are being treated at the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital (LAUTECH).
The passengers were executives of the NUJ most of whom are representatives of the Oyo and Lagos council of the union.

The NUJ officials on board the crashed vehicle and their designations are:

Bolaji Akeem -NTA7, Lagos
Sylva Okereke -Champion Newspaper
Odunsi Muhammed -New Nigeria Newspaper
Bimbo Oyetunde -FRCN Lagos
Nzeogwu Christopher -VON
Fatimah Abdulkareem -National Treasurer Adeyemi Fatai -Lagos Bus Driver
The Oyo State Chapter of the NUJ has announced a seven day mourning beginning Saturday over the tragic loss of colleagues in the accident.
